North Star Township

North Star Township is a rural, agricultural area located in Michigan’s central, southeastern region. As of the census of 2020, there were 895 people residing in the township.

It began in 1857 with the organization of what was then known as Douglas, a station on the Ann Arbor Railroad. It was renamed “North Star” in 1884. Our little town has remained active throughout the years, maintaining a post office.

winter cemetery decorations

Winter grave blankets, wreaths, gnomes and all other Christmas decorations must be removed by April 1st.

After April 1st, all remaining grave blankets, wreaths, Christmas decorations as well as flowers stuck in the ground, shepherd hooks, and solar lights will be removed.

Please remove Christmas decorations placed in urns over the winter by April 1st as required with all other Christmas items.

Please do not place any new spring flowers or decorations until after May 1st.
