The North Star Township Board will hold a public hearing on July 1, 2025 at 7pm at the North Star Township Hall, to consider an application for a Solar Energy Facility Exemption Certificate from DTE Electric Company. Michigan Public Acts 108 and 109 of 2023 allow DTE to ask North Star Township to grant a 20-year exemption from ad valorem property taxes and to establish a specific tax based on the nameplate capacity of the facility.

A copy of the application will be available at the township hall upon request and at the public hearing. Written comments on the application will be received by mail prior to the public hearing or at the public hearing.
